FAQ for Practitioners’ Circle

FAQ for Practitioners’ Circle

Q: What is the Practitioners’ Circle?
A: The Practitioners’ Circle is an opportunity for educators to come together and discuss new research and theories about education and also explore how to put these theories into practice.  This current Circle is 8 week exploration into Blended Learning led by the Alvo Institute, which focuses on helping educators move from the theory and overview of blended instruction to the actions required for a successful implementation.

Q: Which parts of the Practitioners’ Circle are time-sensitive?
A: Most of the course can be done at your own pace. However, we will have weekly webinars and forum discussions that correspond to a new selection from the book. We recommend that you have read the selection before attending the webinars, which take place on Thursday afternoon at 12:30 and 3:00 PST.

Q: How do I access a webinar?
A: Within each week’s post, there is a new link to register for the weekly webinar. Simply follow the link to enter which time you’d like to attend, your name, and your email address. Then you’ll get an email with a link to get into the webinar.

Q:How do I retrieve a lost username or password?
A: Your username is your first initial and last name (ie. Our founder’s username is rtomasini). Then you can use the “forgot password” link to reset your password.

Q:What if I use the “forgot password” link and I’m still having trouble?
A: If the above steps did not solve the problem, please email and one of our teammates will manually reset your password for you.

Q: What if I didn’t get to register in time for the Practitioners’ Circle? Can I still join?
A: Our January session is full, however, we will be offering the next Practitioners’ Circle in April 2015. Please contact Rebecca Tomasini at to be pre-registered.
